The lido project is operated by local volunteers who are donating their time & expertise to the project. We have a full time project director who is over-seeing the building project and development of the next phase of the project. Find out more about the committee.
Sally Horrox - A Saltdean resident with extensive not-for-profit experience combined with marketing and communications experience. Sally is our chair and lead on our Trusts, Foundations and corporate funding strategy.
Deryck Chester - A Saltdean resident who has worked on the project to save and restore Saltdean Lido since 2010. Deryck is our heritage officer and activities programmer. He is also part of the fundraising team. He works full time for Sussex Police.
Jules Shepherd - A Saltdean resident involved in the project from the beginning. Jules has successfully run a number of businesses locally and is now retired.
Matthew Glen - A Saltdean resident for 10 years, Matthew brings over 15 years of Project Management experience in the Construction Industry in particular M&E Services for major Blue Chip clients.
Rebecca Crook - A local Saltdean resident who co-founded the Save Saltdean Lido Campaign to help protect the lido site from residential development. Rebecca works in London with blue-chip brands developing business plans and creating world class customer experiences. Outside of work Rebecca sits on The National Trust Strategic Advisory Board for London & the South East.
Phil Haslam - A Saltdean resident who leads on our financial matters. As an accountant Phil oversees the day-to-day finances of the CIC.
Christine Gibbons - Christine is board advisor on governance, board development, partnership development with the operator of the lido, community engagement and strategic advice from 18 years of experience at board level in hospitals and the leisure sector. She is a retired clinician and is Chairman of parkrun global, Deputy Chair of Hospice UK. Director/trustee of Everybody Sport & recreation which is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status formed in March 2014 to operate on a not for profit basis all 15 leisure facilities in East Cheshire where she used to live
